Thank’s Akron

Posted by The D On August - 3 - 2010

lebronwadebosh-displayLeBron James has extended an olive branch to his Ohio hometown in the form of a full-page newspaper ad, days before making his first public appearance in Akron since leaving for the Miami Heat.

“Akron is my home, and the central focus of my life,” James wrote in Tuesday’s Akron Beacon Journal. “It’s where I started, and it’s where I will always come back to.”

Conspicuously absent from the ad is any mention of Cleveland, home of the Cavaliers, the team that James famously dumped in a much-maligned ESPN television special last month. The ad features photographs of James at his annual charity bike-a-thon, where he hands out hundreds of bicycles and joins a mile-long ride through downtown Akron. Despite speculation that James might skip the event, he has said he plans to show up on Saturday.

The traditional eight-mile trek that follows the ride has been canceled this year.

“It was here where I first learned how to play basketball, and where I met the people who would become my lifelong friends and mentors,” James wrote in the ad. “Their guidance, encouragement and support will always be with me.”

LeBron Still The King??

With LeBron James leaving Cleveland and joining two other All Star players, Wade and Bosh will this hurt his legacy of one of the greatest of all time?

Great players can’t win a championship on their own, they all need help. The thing with some of the best players in recent time, others have come to play with them. Bird, Magic and Jordan never jumped ship to win a championship, Duncan has done pretty well with getting good teammates. Star Players make their teammates better and make sure that GM’s give them good players to help.

When Shaq came to LA its not like LA was stacked with All stars, they drafted good players. 2004 with Malone and Payton those guys jumped ship and I don’t blame them when your career is at the end. Shaq’s career is over go jump ship!! LeBron is still young.

If Bird, Magic and Jordan joined forces in the late 80’s it would be a dream team. Would Jordan be the best wining rings with those guys, as he is considered now, doing it on his own with a good supporting cast?

I’m not hating on Lebron for leaving, it will look bad if they don’t win this year or next. I think it will be fun to watch that team. I just wonder if his legacy would have been the same as if he stayed and eventually won some rings in Cleveland on his own. I guess time will only tell.

I would be happier if he came to the Clippers!!!

Lebron To The Clippers!!

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Clippers are in talks on a max contract hours before his announcement!!

Ok, this is not true.. King James does not want to be a part of the Clipper curse.

He does on the other hand might want to win a ring in Miami with D. wade and C. Bosh. Would this make them a dream team? Would it be 2008 all over again when the three big names joined forces in Boston??

Or does Lebron stay in Cleveland and hope and pray that they can get CP3.

The count down is on for James’s big announcement on ESPN Later this evening!!

LeBron’s Mom Update

Posted by The D On May - 18 - 2010

lebron and delonte westLeBron James’ attorney has fired off a cease and desist email — finally denying the fast-spreading, and disturbing rumor of a sex scandal involving LeBron’s mom and his teammate Delonte West.

TMZ obtained a copy of the email sent to terezowens.com — the sports blog that first reported on Friday that LeBron’s mother Gloria was allegedly sleeping with Delonte. In the email, Frederick Nance — attorney for LeBron and Gloria — says the report is “categorically false and per se defamatory.” Nance adds, “No thinking person could possibly believe such rubbish.”

The report — which also spread as a viral email — was supposed to explain the Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff loss to the Boston Celtics with this theory: LeBron finds out about Delonte and his mom before game 4 … Cavs go on to lose games 4, 5, and 6 (and possibly LeBron).

The guys at terezowens tell us, “We think it’s a little fishy that they waited almost 4 days to fire this off.” They say they stand by their source, and they’re consulting with their lawyers. The story is still up on their site … for now.

UPDATE: We also spoke to Keith Estabrook — a spokesman for the James family — who told us, “I will not dignify this with a comment.”

Lebrons Mom Sleeps with Teammate?

lebron and delonte west

Terezowens.com is reporting that LeBron James’s Mother Gloria has been sleeping with the King James temmate Delonte West.. Thats right, and here is what Terezowens.com has posted.

In what is truly a disturbing story, comes exclusive Terez Owens news that LeBron’s teammate Delonte West is sleeping with LeBron’s Mother Gloria James..Yes, this is the purported story coming from my source in Cleveland..My source explains the following.”My uncle is the general contractor at the Q and has been for the last 7 years. He’s good friends with a lot of guys at the Q, including some of the bigger boys in the organization and knows Dan Gilbert personally. My uncle has been told that Delonte has been banging Gloria James (Lebron’s Mom) for some time now. Somehow Lebron found out before game four and it destroyed their chemistry and divided the team. I am not making this up, I wish it wasn’t true but it happened. .” With Delonte West’s checkered past, LeBron can be none too pleased with his teammate and good friend hanging with his Mother… The Cavs definitely looked like a different squad from game 4 on..especially LeBron…coincidence, or did this really just happen? Maybe this is the reason LeBron’s leaving Cleveland..-TO

Lebron-mvp

LeBron James will win his second straight MVP award, the Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting.

James, the 10th player to win the award in consecutive seasons and the second youngest to do so, will accept the award at a new conference on Sunday at the University in Akron.

James averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game for the Cavaliers this season.

Do you think at some point LeBron James will average a triple double for the season?

L.James A Clipper?

I believe that if Blake Griffin has no more setbacks to his timetable and returns without ill effect from his injury, he could have an impact that goes beyond just making the Clippers competitive in the West. He might put them in the hunt for LeBron James next summer. I still believe James, the reigning NBA MVP, will re-up with the Cavaliers after he becomes a free agent in July. But if he opts to take his game elsewhere, he will be weighing the championship potential of his new team and the intangibles of his new hometown. Why not L.A.? It has all the intangibles an NBA player could want. –San Antonio Express-News

Im all for James going to the Clippers as long as I buy season tickets before he comes- The D
